 **Tamil Nadu – Weekly Political Overview**

Since my longer stay in **Tiruvannamalai**, I have continued to follow political developments in Tamil Nadu closely.
This week, five issues stood out:
* **Cauvery / Mettur:** Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay opened the Mettur Dam for irrigation, but concerns remain about whether water reserves will be sufficient for the full agricultural season.
* **Tamil at the Madras High Court:** The Tamil Nadu Assembly unanimously passed a resolution calling for Tamil to become a principal language of the High Court.
* **Police reform:** The government plans to create 29,108 new police posts over five years and invest further in cyber forensics and technical modernisation.
* **Temple transparency:** The State Information Commission has ordered wider disclosure of temple assets, including land, leases, deposits and audits. For places such as Tiruvannamalai, this is particularly significant.
* **Political realignment:** The DMK is reorganising after its electoral defeat, while the TVK-led governing camp is still working towards a more stable alliance structure.
My main impression: Tamil Nadu is still in a period of political transition. Questions of water, language, temples, agriculture, economic development and social policy remain closely connected.
Perhaps that is also why Tamil Nadu continues to stay with me after my return to Germany.

The Temple Towers of Tiruvannamalai – The Aesthetics of a Tesseract

The gopurams of the Arunachaleshvara Temple rise like folded dimensions of the divine. They are not mere towers of stone, but standing mantras — architectural recitations of infinity. Every tier, every sculpted figure is a movement of expansion rather than limitation: upward, outward, inward — simultaneously. In Western geometry, such a form might be called a tesseract — the shadow of a four-dimensional body cast into three-dimensional space. The temple, too, is a projection: a visible cross-section of the unseeable, a tangible surface through which the Divine unfolds itself. What is silence within becomes ornament without. Viewed through the lens of fractal geometry , the towers embody self-similarity — the repetition of divine order at every scale. Siva Mirror

Siva wird in vielen Darstellungen mit  geschlossenen Augen  gezeigt – versunken in Meditation, zurückgezogen aus der Welt. Doch das bedeutet nicht Blindheit, sondern ein  Sehen in die Tiefe , ein  inneres Gewahrsein . In der tantrischen Tradition ist Shiva das  Cit , das reine, augenlose Bewusstsein – das nicht durch Pupillen blickt, sondern  alles durchdringt . Siva sieht nicht – er ist das Sehen! Shiva als Spiegel: In der indischen Bildsprache wird Shiva oft als Spiegel der Wirklichkeit dargestellt – manchmal auch mit Lingam als Zentrum kosmischer Energie. Wenn du den Spiegel betrachtest, hat er kein Gesicht, keine Pupillen, keine Mimik. Und doch: Er gibt dir dein Bild zurück – genauer, als du es selbst je gesehen hast, weil Du dich selbst sehen kannst.
